About

King’s Cheerleading is a Christian school based cheerleading group that promotes the spectacular athletic sport of cheerleading. As we prepare for our 7th year, we look forward to maintaining our reputation as being a cheerleading group that promotes pride, passion, sportsmanship and Christian Character, and encourages fun, fitness and friendship.

Our mission at King’s Cheerleading is to help each cheerleader to reach his or her potential in a safe and positive environment. Through cheerleading you will not only have fun, you will work hard to reach personal and team goals, build self-confidence and accomplish things you never dreamed of!

Cheerleading is a performance-based sport that combines elements of gymnastics, dance and acrobatics. Athletes practice towards perfecting a two and a half minute high energy CHEER or DANCE routine. Cheerleading is the ultimate team sport, as it relies on every member of the team to be successful, resulting in developed confidence/coordination/trust and teamwork. Cheerleading encourages team spirit and team camaraderie like no other sport. It is a sport that promotes fun, fitness and friendships at a recreational level all the way through to an elite competitive level.

There are 2 types of cheerleading:

POM: A Pom routine incorporates the use of poms throughout a fast paced dance routine. Sharp motions, formations, leaps, jumps, turns and kicks are also emphasised.

CHEER: A cheer routine involves creating a fast paced performance (set to music) incorporating motions and dance, tumbling, jumps, stunts and pyramids.
